| Synopsis: Poor shopgirl Laura Murdock becomes an advertising model and soon finds herself the reluctant "kept woman" of her wealthy employer Will Brockton. When Laura meets poor but honest newspaper reporter Jack Madison she's ready to give up the jewels and furs for married life. Unfortunately, Jack has to go to South America on assignment and when Laura finds herself penniless and out on the street her attempts to play it straight go awry. This soaper is dated by its seemingly endless punishment of the "fallen woman." But Constance Bennett is lovely to look at and we get to see Clark Gable in an early supporting role. Montgomery's screen time is somewhat limited and so is the role. |
