SYNOPSIS:
Heiress Carol Morgan is engaged to marry Bill Wade. When Bill asks her to live on his salary, Carol balks; but when Carol finds out she's broke, she agrees to Bill's terms only to find out that he has lost his job and is as poor as she is. Carol then decides to call off the marriage and proceeds to sponge off of her rich friends until they grow tired of her. She then turns from houseguest to mistress and this is where Bill finds her. Pretty standard pre-code drama, with a refreshing end in which the female character does not have to "pay for her mistakes." Bankhead's character can be a little annoying, particularly in the beginning of the film.
