Malcolm Broderick
(Ralphie Hilliard)
Having celebrated a two digit birthday in a hit play, and having treaveled extensively as a professional actor in this country as well as in Europe, eleven year old Malcolm Broderick passionately resents being called a "moppet." One of Manhattan's younger natives, he has a fine British heritage for his chosen profession. His parents came to New York from Blackpool, England, where plays are tried out before opening in London and where his mother was active in amateur thatricals. An uncle still owns many theatres and amusement centers there. Another, non-theatrical uncle is former Mayor of Burnley, England. Malcolm was discovered by Jan Peerce who was looking for the ideal boy to play his son on the Colgate Comedy Hour for his rendition of "What Is A Boy?". He has since then been one of video's favorite child actors and has been associated with such Broadway productions as "The Seven Year Itch" and "Frogs of Spring." He most recently appeared in the Texas production of "King of Hearts" with Franchot Tone. During the summer of 1953 he made films in Paris, London and Berlin for Eastman Kodak Company and last summer he acted on the TV series, "The Marriage," with Hume Cronyn and Jessica Tandy.
