RUSSELL COLLINS (Jonathan Travis)

Russell Collins, who studied at the Indiana State University and the Carnegie Tech
School of the Drama, began his professional career at the Cleveland Playhouse where
he spent a decade portraying a variety of roles. He then came to New York and made
his Broadway debut in the Group Theatre's "Success Story" with Franchot Tone and
Luther and Stella Adler. Among the more-than-forty Broadway productions in which he
subsequently appeared are "Carousel," "The Iceman Cometh," "Sabrina Fair," "A View
From The Bridge," "The Grass Harp" and "Romulus." His numerous films include "Sadie
Thompson," "Niagara," "Soldiers of Fortune," "Raintree County" and "The Enemy
Below." Mr. Collins travelled to England for the London edition of "Mister Roberts," and,
recently, completed a cross-courntry trip as Louis Howe in the national company of
"Sunrise at Campobello." In addition, he has participated in such major television
dramatic presentations as Studio One, Kraft, Philco, Alcoa, the DuPont Show of the
Month, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, the Shirley Temple Story Book, Playhouse 90, Play
of the Week's "Morning's at Seven" and "The Grass Harp." For the latter, he recreated
his original Broadway role. Last spring at UCLA, he participated in Paul Shyre's
adaptation of John Hersey's "Child Buyer."
